I purchased a TV set which almost immediately started have screen flashes. We reported this at the store and we were told to just rewire all of the audio/video connections. When this didn't work we made a service call. We were told that they were too busy and would hire and outside company to do the work. They showed up and said they had no idea of what to do but would call the manufacture and let us know.
Almost two months later with no communications, they called and said they need to come and replace a part (this would be the second day we had to take of work). The arrived and started replacing the engine in the TV which didn't work. They put the old part in and now that didn't work. The said sorry we have to take your TV, which they did and left (our service agreement was in home repair).
After they left I went to the TV stand that was brand new and it was all scratched. I called HHGREGG where I purchased the TV and was told the store manager would call, he never did. I called again and talked to him and he said he would call back; he never did. I called again and talked to a different manager who said they would look into it and call back; the never did. We went to the store and talked to the store manager that called someone in the corporate office and said they would call me back.
Four days later they called and said I would just have to wait and any damage caused I would have to take up with Buckhead tv who had said everything I said was untrue. I told them I didn't buy the tv from Buckhead. I was told they would check into it an call back; they never did. When I called the store manager back again he said I would have to deal with corporate because he was not responsible anymore.
What I have learned is that HHGREGG is only interested in selling, they will not support you and buying extended warranties is a waste of money because they won't even support the original aggreement. Stay away from this store, pay a little extra if you have to, to deal with a quality company!
