Angels In The Outfield
AitO, AITO, The Poetry Club, Literary Angels Publishing, Shannon Wendler, Kevin Wendler ripoff, scam, collect money never send items, sends few items to create feeling of trust

Like several other people who have probably contacted the rip-off site before, I too, would like to report some illegal activity. If nothing else, at least it should serve as a warning...

Myself and many others have essentially been robbed via the internet thru a company based in Taylor, Texas. The company name is Angelsintheoutfield.net; it is owned by Kevin and Shannon Wendler who apparently live in Taylor.

You are probably not familiar with the situation, but the story goes like this; there are a number of people around the world who collect art made by a company called Sideshow Weta and movie prop replicas from United Cutlery.

Both these companies are worldwide, based in the US and very reputable. The collectors, including myself have been offered and have ordered, over the past 9 months, via internet from Angels in the Outfield (AITO).

The company has been troubled with seeming delays, but essentailly delivered what they promised. Or so it seemed...

Sometime from November last year, communication became increasingly sparse, until it completely dried up from December.

The last e-mail I received -after many requests for information, I might add - from them was on January 13, in which they promised to give me a full update by that Monday. Since that moment there has been nothing but silence...

All my e-mails have remained unanswered (although I know that at least some -if not all - of them have been read) and my phonecalls unreturned.

It has just come to general public knowledge in the past several weeks that many of these orders, including mine, have not been or will be fullfilled and that the owners are refusing to communicate with customers and/or give refunds.

We can be sure that the value of these orders usually paid to AITO via Paypal.com or immediately charged to our credit cards exceeds many tens of thousands of US dollars. All these orders were placed in good faith and many reputable board members vouched for AITO at the time, but not any longer.

My personal outstanding amount of pre-paid orders exceed $3.500, - and even though I demanded several times either delivery of these items (that have been available from the manufacturer for quite some time already) or a full refund, the silence continued.

Some people apparently have been refunded small amounts of money and it all appears to follow a Ponzi-scheme pattern.

How do I know all this besides my own personal story? I am a member of a collectors' board on the internet where much of the info has come to light and people have recently shared their stories.

On this board, you will find many people's testimonies and complaints about AITO.

And this one by another board member who has lost even more money and contains a vast quantity of evidence to show AITO are stealing our money:

I wonder if there is anything that can be done to help us and to stop these people from stealing money from other unsuspecting people... Please contact me with any questions or any info you may think is useful.
