American Intercontinental University
AIU Approval of all students to maintain accredition ripoff

I attended AIU for only 3 weeks. Upon admittance to the campus I was informed that I would be able to attend with a letter directly from the Registrar of my former school and an official transcript. I sent the request the same day and it arrived 3 days later. Once I surpassed the 2 week "non-charge/credit for enrollment" term I was informed that I would be withdrawn from the campus and would be charged $1,800. When I requested to speak to representative about this issue, I received no resolution. Before withdrawl date I was contacted 3-4 times a day by atleast two individuals. Once I was notified of my withdrawl, I have been unable to receive a return call.

I work at an online college and understand the demands to meet accrediation with enrollements and I am familiar with the problems the campus has been having with maintaining accrediation with certain programs. I have been working with a representative of SACS (their accrediation agency) and he has informed me of the questionable practices and recent complaints from the school. See this website for accreditation information (http://www.sacscoc.org/disclosure/AIU. Pdf). I also have a former employee of AIU that currently works at my campus that has testified about there practices and how they mislead applicants to maintain enrollments. I have multiple websites and discussion boards where they have complaints against them.
