My Wife and I attended a National Grants Conference in Greensboro NC in June. We fell for the sales pitch of how you could start a business on the web with their help and software.
We could not get the software to work so one of the companies that was represented, refunded our money. However, Innovative Merchant Solutions who was the company who would handle the credit card merchant account, will not refund the money paid and still sends us monthly bills for services that were never used. We were told in the meeeting that we could cancel this if our current merchant account could handle a web business, which it could.
We never activated their services and told them that the web company cancelled our contract and refunded our money so theirfore we had no use for their services.
They turned us over to collections and when I talked with the collections agent, he said that they get calls everyday from people who were scammed by this company. I told him that this must be illegal and he stated that Innovative Merchant Solutions did not care if I persued legal actions against them. That their goal is to ruin my credit.
I hope that by writing this, others can be saved from financial ruin by a company who should not be allowed to do business this way. BUYERS BEWARE.
