I returned this weekend from working out of town for 3 weeks. I had an e-mail in my bulk-mail saying myperfectcredit has assumed my account with clearcredit.com, but I do not have an account with them-so I thought nothing of it & deleted the message.
When I checked my online bank statement to help balance my checkbook I was suprised with a $9.95 charge from My Perfect Credit inc. It said FTM after the name so they have used my debit card. I tried to use clearcredit.com a couple years ago, but cancelled because credit reporting agencies will not deal with a third party (any of them).
So after being charged hundreds of fraudulent dollars (the 1st day) from letters they said they sent on my behalf, I figured out they were a scam, also. The credit reporting agencies told me that these scam artists dispute every entry on the credit report so that they can charge you for each letter - therefore the agencies now refuse to deal with a 3rd party.
Obviously, clearcredit has sold my bank account info to myperfectcredit - so both of these so-called companies are committing illegal & immoral acts for this transaction. Neither company has any authorization from me to charge anything to my bank account.
I had just received some money back from the same kind of situation with America-on-line. I have a cable-modem, so have no use for them, but started seeing charges on my statement. When I went to my bank before, they refused to help me. Now I know about the consumer complaints & federal regulation E, so will be hounding them like they've never seen!
