International Society Of Poets
Ripoff, scam, thieves, liars, etc... Thank You complaint.com for doing such a great service to help people like me from getting Ripped Off

First, I must say Thank You to my Dear Brother Ronald Whitehead for giving me copies off the complaint.com along with your web address and the feed back from other people who had been ripped-off by The International Society of Poets. My heart goes out to you.

Second, I was informed that my poem was selected for publication in their new book of poetry "Eternal Portraits" and a contest semi-finalist for a grand prize of $10,000 dollars. I was excited but skeptical. Still, I must admit I did give them a $10.00 down paymnet for the $49.95 book Eternal Portraits scheduled for publication in Winter 2005.

Third, I got a letter requesting my permission to put my poem on a CD. I was also given their Prestigious Editor's Choice Award for outstanding achievment in Poetry. Presented by poetry.com and the International Library of Poetry. They wanted me to send them $49.95 because there were only a reserved number of limited copies of the book left. I wrote them back and said if my poem is so great why should I pay for the Book or CD.

Fourth, I got an invitation to the International Society of Poets Spring Poetry Convention and Symposium, Feb. 25-27 at Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida. Sounds to good to be true dear friends. I was also also informed as a nominee for 2005 Poet of the Year. Then they want $595.00 to cover the 3 day convention.

I am disabled and barely make ends meet. So, needless to say I couldn't attend this convention and all the time I kept thinking if my poem is so good shouldn't it pay for itself. Don't forget all the famous people that would be there as well; Florence Henderson, Pulitzer Prize Winner W.D. Snodgrass and Past Chancellor David Wagoner of the Academy of American Poets to award $20,000 to Poet of the Year 2005 at this event.

Today, I got a Hardbound Book titled "INVOKING THE MUSE" and guess what? My poem "I Love an Angel" was on page Number 1. What a complement I thought to have my poem on the first page. I told my brother and after reviewing the convention fee of $595.00 then I would be be elegible to win the $20,000. Ronald said I needed to review it further. Then he brings me pages from your website in the next 15 minutes. Needless to say, my heart slumped because, I just couldn't believe what extremes these people will go to to get your money. I thank God I didn't have the money and I would like to know if everyone who entered their poetry and received a book got their poem on the first page? Don't forget my poem was published quicker than they said and in another book all-together and my poem was on the Page 1. I also noticed that pages 1 thru 4 were about a 1/16 of an inch shorter than the rest of the book.

I welcome any feed back about The International Society Of Poets and wish to know if everyone who received a book got their poem on the first page like mine. These people need to be sued big time for the lengths of deception they go thru to get your $600.00 dollars. Plus the big deal they make out of your poem and how great it is. They really try to pump you up and make you feel like somebody. That's what hurts the most to me.

Thank You complaint.com for doing such a great service to help people like me from getting Ripped Off
