On October 11th, I mailed a check to an address connected with Poetry.com. I have been a contributing writer for several months and received a letter informing me that I won an "Editor's Choice Award" for a poem I wrote. They further stated that my poem would be included in an anthology and because of my "VIP" status, I could get a discount on the book.
The check for $47.75 was allegedly a "writer's special price" and after I convinced a friend to loan me the money, we never received the book or any written notice. The check was cashed in a Suntrust Bank in Richmond, Virginia. I am clueless about how to get my friend's money back. I know, from browsing usacomplaints.com.Com website that many other people were defrauded out of their hard-earned money and I would like to be counted among the outraged consumers who want to either get reimbursed or receive the book I am so eagerly waiting to see!
