Complaint / Review
Centurion Financial
Ripoff

I am a college student, and so whenever I am approved for ANY sort of Credit Card, I am happy. Well, just yesterday I recieved a call from this company. I was a little skeptical at first but I have been applying for mass credit cards since tuition is due, so I was not surprised to recieve this call. I was, however, taken aback at the great deal. I mean, no interest for 3 yrs? I should've known better.

Anyhow, I gave them ALL of my information but also told the guy that I may not have the funds in my account. He gave me a bogus number to call just in case I needed the funds stopped - to ensure that I would not overdraft. Surely, I believed him. He even gave me an extention number and asked how my Thanksgiving went. Seriously, do people not realize that they are scamming people of their hard earned money?

So this morning I woke up and decided to just check and see whether or not the credit card truly existed. And, much to my disappointment, it is false. I typed in the phone number they gave me and this is the first site that prompted. I was devastated because I had given them all of my info - ssn and all!

Immediately I called my bank and put a stop payment on the $249 dollars. The bank was more than helpful and gave me much reassurance. I am sooo happy that it has only been a day, but I am still worried since the credit card came with multiple offers, such as the free long distance scam. The guy DID give me a phone number, however, to cancel the long distance in case I did not want it. I have done that but I still do not trust that they won't withdrawal money from my account.

All morning I tried to contact the Customer Service for Centurion Financial. All morning the line was busy. FINALLY I got an answer. And the only thing I can say is, BIT*. The lady did not care, obviously she gets many complaints a day - I really do not even know why they HAVE a real customer service line - and she basically told me that there was a binding agreement. I told her that this was NOT approved because all of the promises her company had made were false and that I would report their company to the BBB. She had no patience and hung up on me.

I really do apologize to everyone that got scammed completely and had money withdrawn from their account. We should all know better now and not accept any credit card offers over the internet or the telephone. Lets all get them through the banks... Haha.

Thanks for listening and I hope you all the best of luck!
