Northstar Mechanical Heating and Air
If we don't want unnecessary work done... Won't fix problem!

On Friday, August 3 A/C went out. Called First American Home Buyers Protection (warranty) and told us we would be notified by MONDAY night by Northstar Mechanical.

They called Monday night (record breaking heat over the weekend) and said they would be here Tuesday. Came out Tuesday replaced Capacitor and left. 20 min. Later it went out again. Called them back and they said they would be back out on Wednesday. Came back Wed. And said the motor was burnt out, needed new motor and by the way, blower fan wheel needs cleaning for $235.

I declined cleaning and he left. Came back later that same day b/c he forgot to get motor part number. Said he would be back Thursday. (Record breaking heat continues) Waited all day Thursday and was told he had come by at 8:30. (wrong!) then he said no it was 10:30! (wrong again) then we were told he did not come out at all and would not b/c we would not let him do his job properly, that the motor COULD NOT be put in unless blower fan wheel was cleaned for $235.

Had another A/C company come out and we were told Blower was not dirty and motor could be placed in easily. Told Northstar Mechanical and he said he would be out Friday. NO SHOW AGAIN! Called them and were told they would be out Saturday morning.

Saturday August 11 we hired another A/C company to clean the blower for a lot less $ and they too said it was not dirty but would clean it if we insist. We also called Northstar because they still hadn't shown, and were told they would be out sometime today. NO SHOW!

First American Home Warranty had been called every time we called Northstar Mechanical to see if there was something they could do. We could not have any other company replace motor or warranty would be void. Oh, and by the way, the motor burnt out because Northstar Mechanical replaced the capacitor with the wrong voltage. (we have the photos to prove it) So yes we still need a new motor and it has been over a week, still hot here in Texas an First American and Northstar Mechanical couldn't care less.
