Solar prism will send product information and warranty information that makes you think it is the best in the world.in Aug. 2002 I bought a greenhouse and after 2 months it malfunctioned. I called themand the said they will fix it. Its been 2 years now and it still doesn't work.

After 18 months they sent a "revised" warranty that says nothing is their fault. That is not the 14 year warranty I recieved with it. They claim a 1500 watt heater will keep it warm in extreme cold. I had a 1500 watt heater, 400 watt grow light and ground heating cables and the greenhouse stayed 4 degrees above the outside temp.

They claim their prism's allow more light is so on cloudy days it is lighter inside than outside. My light meter says just the opposite. They claim that the vents and the 2 windows will cool the inside. It got to 150 degrees inside when it was 80 degrees outside. It melted the plastic on the thermometer. Even Marty (Manager of production) admitted to me it would not work and they had problems with the greenhouse in a town 50 miles from my home. I have lost 300 plants, from the cold in the spring and the 150 degree heat. Here is a log of my dealings with them.

Jan? 03 i called and talked to a female about fixing the greenhouse. She said that they would call me in a week to arrange for a handyman to fix it. I gave her the number for the chamber of commerce.

March 1,03 no return calls. I called to have it fixed. The female on the other end of the phone said that they would schedule march 25 to have it fixed.

March 17 amber called to say that the repair is being put off for a couple of weeks and that they will call me back with a new date.

July 5 as i had still not received a call back, i called again and spoke with diane. She said that she would look into it and call me back.

July 8 i spoke with anne. She said that she would take care of it and would call me back.

July 31 no call back. I phoned and spoke to kathy about the problem and about my dissatification with the product. She said that she was new and that she would have to talk to other people about it. She also told me that she would call me back.

Aug 22 i called the oregon number to find out if solar prizm is owned by U.S. Fiberglass. Kathy said they were. I told her i had talked to amber, diane, anne and kathy about the greenhouse and they didn't help soar. She said she would look into it.

Sept 11 no call back. I called U.S. Fiberglass and asked for the manager. I was told that he was out for an hour. I called back and talked to marty. He said that they could fix it, but not replace it. He said that i would have to talk to clark harman. I called solar prizm and kathy said that mr. Harman was out and he would be back tomorrow about 10:30. I left a message for him to call me back.

Sept 12 no call back. I called solar prizm and mahela told me mr. Harman could not be disturbed. I confirmed the fax number (503-474-1147) and then i faxed a letter to mr. Harman asking for help.

Sept 18 once again, no call back. Made bbb complaint.

Dec. 19 bbb sent a letter stating that solar prizm did not reply to the complaint.

Jan 5 bbb (st. Luis) called. Abby left a message saying that U.S. Fiberglass would be calling to have me get a handyman to fix it, and that they would pay.

Jan. 7 no call from U.S. Fiberglass. I called abby at 314-*-0606 #3051 and i left a message saying that will not do. They have to take it back and give me my money back.

Jan. 21 i received a letter from the bbb and they said that U.S. Fiberglass refused to answer the letters of complaint, and that the bbb was going to be giving them an unsatifactory rating.

Feb. 03 joe with bbb called and told me that U.S. Fiberglass did not like the unsatifactory rating and that they wanted to make it right. Joe was going to call them back.

Feb. 20 i received 2 letters from barbara saying that the account was closed due to U.S. Fiberglass not responding to the complaint.

Mar. 05 i went to the bbb website and U.S. Fiberglass had no complaints on record. I called joe at the bbb and he told me that U.S. Fiberglass finally called back on mar. 02 and wanted me to call mr. Harman to have a handyman fix it. Same run around. Joe said he would close the account as unsatifactory.

June 20 (on or about) clark harmon called about the fax i sent him in september. He said he was going through his tickle file'. He told me he was semi-retired (2 days a week) and that is why he did not reply. I told him that they promoted this greenhouse as being able to heat it with a 1500-watt heater. He said that was true in l.A., but in nevada i would need 3 1500 watt heaters. They promote that the cross-breeze will cool it to acceptable levels. I told him with both windows open along with the vents open it got to 150 degrees in it. He went on to tell me that was ok as long as i had 75 percent humidity in it. It melted my thermometer and a hydroponic trough. Plants will shut down and go dormant at 100 degrees. At 130 degrees and then they cook. When i told him his greenhouse did not do as advertised and i wanted a refund he told me i would be contacted by the new customer service person. I told him that was not enough. He told me that if i did not want to have it fixed, that would void my warranty.

June 22 i received a letter from the bbb and emily james of solar prism / us fiberglass inc. The letter from ms. James was dated june 08. The letter from the bbb was dated june 15. Ms. James states that they would repair it per our warranty and i will have to find a handyman and have him bill U.S. Fiberglass.

July 13 faxed a reply to solar prism and the bbb. Their warranty states nothing about repairing it before returning it. (see enclosed warranty and related paperwork) i will enclose the same list of handymen that i sent in january.

July 20 received paperwork from solar prism (emily james)
dated july 15 saying she will send the opener and she will call a handyman and she will have him fix it within two weeks. She also included paperwork on the new warranty and climate control paperwork.

July 30 received paperwork from the bbb they sent july 26. They want me to reply by august 1 to see if i am satified with solar prism / u s fiberglass.

August 05 no opener received, no call from a handyman.

August 7 faxed my demand to exercise the option to replace the greenhouse since solar prism / u s fiberglass had a chance to fix it again and failed to do it. Demand refund by august 30. Faxed the bbb request stating the same.

August 9 received a fax from emily james stating she can't find someone to repair it. She also states that they don't have a refund policy and since she was leaving i should contact sherry harmon or robert lynch in the future.

August 10 i faxed my reply stating on june 8 she sent a letter stating that solar prism will fix it or refund it. I demanded that they honor it by august 30. I also sent a fax to the bbb along with solar prisms letters dated june 8 and august 9.

Sept. 13 faxed a letter to the bbb demanding they close the account as unsatifactory. Solar prism / us fiberglass has lied again. Nothing has been fixed or replaced.

I have a stack of paperwork 2 inches thick to document the RIPPOFF. Warranty, claims of what it will do, letters, faxes and photo's. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE CLOSED!
