On May 18th, two Aztil technicians were at my mother's home, in her 55 and over community, to install a new air conditioner. Toward the end of the installation, one technician went into the attic to finish the installation. The next thing my mother, sister, and two visiting friends knew - the technician was calling for his co-worker and asking for 911 to be called.
The firemen did arrive promptly and had to cut the A/C ducts and a huge hole in my mother's ceiling to be sure the fire was out. One technician suffered some burns to his face but refused medical treatment at the scene. FPL came and removed the electrical supply source and from that moment on my mother was forced to seek shelter at a friend's house. On May 19th, I called an Aztil supervisor and asked how we were going to proceed to fix this problem.
