Pulte Homes refuses to repaint the metal part of the roofs of our home that is peeling off and landing in our yard like ripped pieces of paper. The enclave of 7 homes that were built within one month of each other have the same problems and Pulte customer service ageents will give you the same script that the homes are over a year old. I had reported this problem and Pulte retouched the paint and was told by the coordinator that they are now using a better grade of paint. The metal part of the roof is now looking the same way after it has been retouched and I was told that it is over a year and therefore, the warranty is over. They refused to deal with their contractor's and have them be responsible for the inferior paint that was used to paint the metal. I was told by a painter who gave us an estimate that a primer should have been applied before a special metal paint was applied. Obviously, this was not the way the metal was treated because of all the homes in this subdivision, these 7 homes are the only ones showing this defect. The other homes that were built a few years of ours do not show this same problem. These 7 homes look much older than the rest of the homes here because Pulte had used inferior paint possibly because of cost because now they even refuse to do the right thing to the homeowners who paid over $500,000 for these homes. If you have to go with a builder, check their warranty, the one year Pulte insists that defects have to be rectified is not enough, especially if some homeowners use the homes as vacation or secondary homes. Pulte customer service agents all sound the same because they do not want to lose their jobs, so they are told not to entertain any problems that homeowners have. Pulte Homes are bulding very inferior homes now so do not automatically think Pulte Homes are better than other builders!!!
