We in Merida are pleased that the Flamingo Lakes scam may be over. The whole place has been purchased by a new company.
Meanwhile, their so-called Marina has ceased to exist, only one house and a condo have been built, and according to Merida officials, they had failed to get certain building permits. They never did get permission to build their "world class" golf course.
The new company appears legit and we wish them the best.
However, Neil Baines, before he left, ripped people off for hundreds of thousands of dollars and pulled up stakes and left the country.
