This writer by way of background happens to have an excellent credit record and more particularly has never ever missed a payment due Sears. (To be fair here a SEAR’s representative did tell me with a chuckle that there is (I paraphrase,) small print somewhere that allows the corporate behemoth to scoff up my paltry pack of vested reward points. I know not where.)
In the great scheme of human events there is not that much money or harm at issue. But SEARS' need to cop my reward points is indicative I think of the sheer magnitude of the incompetence infecting the American corporate retail structure.
As a former heavy user of SEARS’s products and services: I have asked all members of my family, and my employees and friends and associates to now stay away from all dealings having to do with Sears and or Sears MasterCard.
For my part I will devote my time and treasure for the rest of my life, (but not on my company’s time,) to cite the sheer business stupidity exercised by this operation of ethically challenged dolts. This activity also in the scheme of human events is not much... But we all must do what we can do if serves and pleasures our sense of rightness.
Be assured that at all times as I advance my modest boycott I will wonder at what point and for what reason does a business entity decide to enact policies and hire clueless or just plain dumb and rude people in the service of jettisoning its sterling customers. Perhaps it is suggestive of some new kind of evolving American Business model.
