I have never been so disguisted in my life. I'm glad i found this website which was actually found by accident trying to find out info. On where to send a written formal complaint!
I had just recently moved into a new home when I ordered an OUT of STOCK queen size bed from Marlo's Department store on September 3.
This my first time ordering from Marlo's. The payment was in the form of an electronic transaction, meaning Marlo's was going to get their money, before i got my bed.
I was told that when my bed came in, i could then set up up a delivery date. I was never told as to when my bed would be in, but that i would be contacted by one of Marlo's representatives.
On October 11, a month after i ordered my bed, i called Marlo's customer service department located in Silver Spring, Md. I was told by customer service that my shipment was due to come in during the month of November and delivery was slow due to the tragic events that occurred on September 11. I completley understood the circumstances and deciced to wait until I heard somthing from Marlo's.
When the month of November arrived, i decided to call to check on the status of my furniture. When i called the customer service department, the representative was very short with me and told me that they don't know the specific date furniture is IN STOCK, but it would be delivered in the middle of December!
This made me question as to how was I going to be contacted about the arrival of my bed if they don't know when it'll arrive at the warehouse in the first place! I decided to call in December and I was told that the bed was in, and nobody called me, I had to call them.
The customer service department was very rude each time i called. I was told that it wouldn't be delivered until Jan 3! There's no doubt that if i hadn't called that day, I would've missed the shipment and the wait would've been longer.
I waited 4 months going on 5 months for one bed from Marlo's department store in Alexandria, Va and the only thing they could compensate me with was a 10% gift certificate. If you're looking for furniture, i'm sure one could find good quality merchandise somewhere else for MUCH LOWER PRICES! I plan too.
