I placed an order on the website of Sistemi di Luce (an Italian company) on 24 September for a floor lamp made by another Italian company (Album). They took the money on my American Express card immediately but all I received was a string of e-mails apologising for the delay and saying it was a backlog at the manufacturer.
Eventually I contacted the manufacturer (Album) and a helpfiul lady e-mailed me immediately to say they had no customer by that name and no order had been placed (the lamp I wanted was in stock).
Sistemi di Luce never reply to e-mails. I have told them I know they are acting fraudulently and that I want to cancel the order and get a refund. All I get is another e-mail apologiosing for the delay!
I have contacted American Express to report it as a disputed item in order to get a refund (but that takes time) and to the Italian Consumer Protection agency. Do not do business with this company!
