Global Sun Pools Total ripoff and inferior products and installation

I purchased a pool from Global Sun Pools, Inc. April 24th of 2003. The problems started before the pool was ever installed. They cancelled installation twice. The one time we cancelled it was because of a family emergency so the pool was not installed until June 3rd of 2003. The appointment was for 9 AM in the morning and the installation crew didn't show up until 4:30 PM after several phone calls and half-assed apologies.

They rushed to install our pool so they could get home and they left our house around 8:30 PM. What should have been an all day job in order to be done properly was done in 4 hours. That same night I discovered that the Ionizer Unit was leaking and called the next day, June 4th. The field service tech. Showed up on June 24th at 9:30 PM to replace the Ionizer Unit, 20 days after my call. You can imagine my displeasure at standing outside at 10 PM in the evening holding a flashlight so the tech could replace the Ionizer Unit.

After the tech left I went out to check the pool and discovered that the new Ionizer Unit leaked too. I contacted the company that night and they assured me they would fix the problem. They shipped a new Ionizer Unit UPS ground in a few days but when nobody showed up to replace it I again called the company on July 9th. They offered to knock $25.00 off the downpayment if I would replace it myself since they had no one sheduled to be in our area for a while. I accepted and did so only to find that the new unit also leaked. I fixed the problem with some caulk and let it go with no further problems until I set the pool back up for this coming summer.

On April 1st. I reinstalled everything only to find that the sensor connections in the bottom of the Ionizer Unit leaked. When I tried to fix this by tightening the screws the material holding the screws in place had deteriorated so badly while sitting up for the winter that the slightest turn stripped out the threads and they couldn't be fixed. I got out the old Ionizer Unit, applied some caulk, and installed it and it worked properly. Unfortunately, I had to go to the hardware store and buy some Plumbers tape to seal all the threaded joints that I had disconnected for winterizing.

Everything went fine until the 25th of April when I noticed water in the yard. Upon investigation I found water bubbling up in several places at the base of my pool and a big drop in the water level and the pool isn't even a year old yet. The only thing that has been in the pool this year is the pool vacuum. Funny how that could damage such a "high quality" pool liner. (LMAO) These people need to be taken down and everyones money refunded to them and the truth made known before other people get screwed. I have lodged a complaint with the BBB in both Atlanta, Georgia and in Nevada where the mother company is based.

Hopefully some action will be taken and the victims of this company, myself included will get some satisfaction.
On another note, our loan was sold to Global Financial L.L.C. Effective February 1st. Funny how they got rid of our loan so quickly.
