On August 28 Hurricane Irene caused my apartment to be flooded. There was about 1 foot of water all over my apartment. I had personal property damaged and I could not live in this apartment. I had to go to a hotel for 3 days. I asked the management company Value Companies to pay for my hotel bill. They refused to pay for this hotel bill. I was not able to live in my apartment and this unprofessional and highly unethical management company would not pay for my hotel stay. It is customary that when a tenant is unable to live in an apartment due to poor conditions, then the management company is to put the person in a hotel until the problem is fixed.
A reporter from the Bergen County Record told me that in the past 10 years there have been 3 floods in this apartment community where people have lost their personal property. Beware... Beware... Beware... This apartment is located in a flood zone and when it rains this community is flooded. Dorchester Manor is not a place you would feel safe and secure to live in. They did not do the right thing for me as they could not give a damn.
