My husband and I purchased a mobile home from oakwood acceptance corp. About 6 years ago and every since the first year passed there has been nothing but continuos harrassment from these people.
Our payment started out as 372. Per month. We got behind because I (erma) lost my job for medical reasons. Our payment went to 480. Per month, they said because we no longer had insurance. We got insurance and later dropped it because we did not sign the contract for insurance so they added insurance of ther own at approxiately 200 per month. Now they are adding late charges of $25. Per month and we are only one month behind but they are saying we have $80.in late charges and demanding we pay $626 a month they claim to be house note and insurance. They call all times of day and night. They have called as early as 6A.M. And as late as 9. Pm. One rep even told me she was calling from her home.
No matter how you try to explain your situation they will not listen. They threatin to put you out forclose on your home, demand certain payment amounts. Will talk to you as if you have no feeling. One rep even told me on the phone she did not want to talk to me she wanted to talk to my husband i told her my husband was no longer living in the home and her reply was: I don't care if he's not there you get the money from him any way you can because his name is on the contract as well as yours and I expect to have a payment within the last of the week or we will send someone out there to put you out.
I don't know how they can get away with this. If I send payment over the amount of my original payment they call and tell me it wasn't enough.
I once send in two payments thinking I would be a month ahead they call and also wrote me saying they took the extra payment and applied it to late charges and insurance when there was no late charges. Now i am a month behind again aand they are threating again to evict me.
I am not going to use their names for fear of retaliation.
