I also had a Lochinvar boiler that never worked correctly in the 5 years that I owned it.
Although my installer was incompetent, he installed it correctly. The unit just had a mind of its own. My house would not ever get up to temp, would blow zone valves, cavitate, overheat ect.
I had the installer out to help troubleshoot, no help. I had another company out, $1000 bill, still not right, had a third company out, still couldnt solve it.
When it sprung a leak this year and still got no help from lochinvar, I yanked it out. I am now the proud owner of a Bryant boiler and I am warm.
Total spent:
Lochinvar boiler $4500
1st repairs $350
2nd repairs $1000
3rd repairs $350
Bryant boiler $4000
Total lesson learned $10,200. Moral of the story: Do not buy Lochinvar.
