Shield Star Home Warranty should not be on your list for home warranty companies. Please steer clear of this company.
(1) We had an issue with a line in our water system leaking. There is NO weekend response. "You must wait until the weekday before we respond" - July 17.
(2) Called on July 18, no answer on the phone for 6 tries. Then, when they answered, they said "you must go to the website to file a request. We will then get back to you in 48 hours to respond"... All this, with our water pipes leaking into our basement.
(3) On July 19, we sent a request for refund to the address listed as "Contact" on their website. Today we received the letter back, unopwened with "Not at this address" and "Please Return to Sender 7/30/10" on the envelope.
(4) On July 20, we sent an email request for a refund. To date, there has been no reply to that email at all.
I am pretty sure that ALL of this adds up to no customer service. Stay away from this company, their pricing is attractive... But they have NO SERVICE.
