Move from Hell! Yes, I also, had and still have alot of
problems with Bekins (Good & Fair) out of Kenmore, NY. The move was from NY to Southern CA. We were forced to have our property moved and it arrive before the move in date and put in a storage container (40') in front of the home and in the back yard, until the next day.
Imagine all the ants and everything else with the temps.in the 100's all in our belongings, they even put what they labled food on the boxes out in the yard. Although, I notified them of the situation, that we could not be
in the house until 9/1/03. They said don't worry once they find out that your stuff is there, they will most likely let you in, if not what is a day more for us. Needless, to say that was a bunch of B.S.
They also, charged us more because of the weight issue, being more than the estimate. There where items that would not fit on the truck (Bulky and/or big), that we left behind and still were charged for. They claimed this would pick up on some of the expense. Once the two of us started to unload the bin and the back yard, we found numerous belongings damaged. They left there moving blankets to hide most of this. They even opened new packaged tarps to cover our belongings that were damaged. Now Bekins does not want to cover the damage, after there investigation, even though we had the full replacement insurance coverage. Is there is anyone out there who knows where I can go to win this claim? Where was this site when I was searching for the negatives? Now it appears.
Check this out, the driver even admitted to a few personal belongings that were damaged. And to the posted notice about the Defense of Bekins few complaints to the good deed letters. I believe that not many out there know what there options are. Get the denial letter, and they let it be, for no one to ever find out about. Then there is the few of us, that won't let you walk all over us, without a fight.
Damage Resulting = Damaged goods all over, Brand new and special ordered furniture we pay thousands for in each individual room, in a 2100 sq ft plus home, less than a year ago. And goods from a store front we were ready to open, before this relocation came about.
