Bekins Van Lines stored my household goods for a few months then trucked the goods to my home in Fort Lauderdale FL.
When the driver unloaded the goods I was informed the weight excided the estimate and demanded an additional $3,739.08. When I ask the driver what would happen if I did not pay what would happen? I was then advised they would BREAK MY KNEE CAPS if I did not pay up.
In addition to over charging me my boxes were opened and ransacked, goods are missing and thousand of dollars worth of furniture was destroyed. Bekins offered me only $324.00, I am still trying collect a fair amount.
I did manage to get a refund for the trucking over charge; I contacted the USA Surface Transportation Board and they advised me the maximum amount a trucking company can charge over the estimate is ten present.
