I can't believe they are still in business. Les Holt must have nine lives. He is the greatest liar I have ever met. He should be in show business. Les worked in my business a few years ago and he helped to bring it down with his lies and his thievery. He was hired by my former manager Randy Butler, and these two were like evil twins.
Les has bragged to me about everything from being a diamond merchant in Italy to being the number one salesman at Champion Porsche in Florida. When I called Champion, the man promptly hung up on me. Yes I too have heard the stories about his ranch, his battle with cancer, his charity work in Africa with his church. I have heard him boast about his underworld mafia connections and how he loaned Dewey Brazelton money to get started. How about the cocaine laden wife swapping parties with Charles Lanza, a local realtor. To hear him tell it, Jesus Christ probably asked him for advice before starting out. And Moses too!
I stupidly was drawn again into his web last fall to sell his "storm shelters". Oh, yes, he designed them too. If Les had half the connections he claimed to have, he wouldn't be where he was. First red flag. I managed to stay for 6 weeks before I woke up and left. I helped to sell a commercial shelter in Somerville and was promised a $1400.00 commission last November. He announced this in our sales meeting. I even went to their Christmas party and once again, the money was forthcoming. He knew that I had children to feed. Even his manager John was in on it with one excuse after another. After 6 months of repeated calls and visits I threw in the towel.
I thought his father was innocent but that was wrong too. He was aware that Les owed me the money but blew me off like a yesterdays news. Oh well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I even tried to help the old man get a new roof but he was just like Les, in it for himself only. My only consolation on these dark nights is that he claims Randy Butler burned him to the tune of 150k. Touche! Maybe there is justice in this world after all. Good luck in court Les, you may have met your match.
