National Tire & Battery
Do you know what your doing?

I had taken my car in yesterday to get a new tire because I had swurved to miss a car entering a driveway and landed in a culvert and it was flat. I wanted one tire and it was priced for 69 bucks, then they added the warranty and suggested I buy 2. I needed to get tires anyway, so I said okay.

Then they called me in to the back, my immediate reaction was "what now?" and showed me a part that had been damaged that "supposedly" needed to be replaced. So they called for the part immediately and then said that when they replace the part I will need an alignment, they wanted to charge me 10 hrs of labor, even though my vehicle was there for 4. I threatened to buy the part from them and take my vehicle somewhere else, then they negotiated on the labor rate. Then after the alignment, the guy called me on the phone and said its done and to come pick it up. He said that the steering wheel will be crooked because of possible damage somewhere else and never showed me the damage or, which was weird, they didn't offer to fix it??? Strange since they are quick to price out everything else... He said to just "take it to your mechanic friend and he can pull the wheel straight." My friend does not have an alignment machine. Well the steering wheel was crooked and I got two other opinions from mechanics that said to take it back because they didn't do a full alignment. So I took it back this morning and the guy said that the mechanic in training was there and that he didn't recommend leaving my car and to wait until the senior mechanic came in at 12pm.

I thought to myself, that is pretty sad that they don't trust their mechanic in training, I also looked outside and noticed 4 other cars in there being worked on. I felt bad for them if this mechanic wasn't competant... I didn't want to go back and kept getting the run around from them and I am in sales and need a vehicle and have no time to be coming back and forth to get my car looked at and have it there for hours and hours and it still not be done correctly. Advice: get the work done right and the first time!
