Jennifer's most recent attempt to scam people has occurred via Facebook. She recently received a cease and desist letter from Rachel Ashwell's company, Shabby Chic, for using "shabby chic" without express written consent to do so. Jennifer then rallied a bunch of business women on Facebook to support her movement to trademark an new term "Vintage Chic". She collected $5 contributions from about 50 or so members to be put toward the trademarking fees. She subsequently changed her story umpteen times as to what would be done with the money collected if she didn't reach the full amount necessary to proceed with the trademarking. She became VERY irate with me when I asked her what would be done with said monies, and then refunded my contribution abruptly. She is apparently refunding EVERYONE'S contributions in support of "Vintage Chic" but PayPal has placed a hold on the funds. She has also posted on her personal Facebook page that she's sold the entire inventory of her shop, That's So Shabby (which was formerly known as A Bit of Paris), and posted photos of her alleged trip to NY to deliver said goods to the buyer. If you have purchased anything from Jennifer's shop, it may be best to fight for a refund of your money as there's no guarantee the merchandise is even in her possession at this point. She claimed she closed her shop due to the economy, but it looks like the real reason is that she's running from the complaints the business received as "A Bit of Paris". The business has also been reported to the Better Business Bureau, which has given an "F" rating based on the complaints.
