Worx Yard tools GT
Not as Advertised

The unit appears to be well constructed but its utility far less than what has been advertised. The batteries were charged prior to use in the required fashion and a battery installed on the unit. I utilized the unit in very sparse dry vegetation in some areas of a small yard and in other areas where grass is presently emerging during our spring time growth along areas requiring normal trimming. I didnt accomplish much. The power and torque developed by the motor driving the spool is significantly inadequate for what would be considered normal work for this class of tool as advertised. The cutting cord is of the most minimal dimensions for a weed eater and is feed from one outlet of the spool for a 3.5 radius equating to an overall 10 pattern. The vegetation was minimal in mass and volume in the work performed with the unit. The unit did not perform well at all in normal grass clump volumes and tore at the grass more then cut it. The unit cannot handle more than the most minimal amount of work. I was careful in not forcing the machine into more volume than you might expect the unit to handle. The battery life existed for 15 minutes duration at the most. This was the same for each of the batteries utilized. This is significantly less than the advertized perception and capability demonstrated. For a normal sized person (now around 6 plus) the extension capability of the tool arm is insufficient to be comfortable and required for a person to be slightly bent over. I am 5 11. Again the advertizing is significantly misleading. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the tool as to its application as advertised to as a 0 rating. Durability to regular use maybe a 2 or 3 if you didnt push it. The tool is totally misrepresented in my opinion. The delivered cost of the package to me was $306.11 which included $26.12 shipping, $279.99 for a blower, weed eater, two batteries and two rolls of twine. I have requested to return the unit but was referred to Customer Service open M-F, 8 to 5 and Sat and Sun 6 to 2:30 EST. The Service was closed when I called at 09:45 MST within the published hours on Saturday. I assume I will be out the original shipping and the return shipping amounting to a probable overall direct monetary loss of $50 for the experiment and experience besides the time wasted on the phone and shipping the unit back.
