Still ripping off customers with an insurance scam

Conn's failed to inform me about insurance charges on a 3 months same as cash agreement except by an asterisked item in the contract. The charge was only $5.73, and was not included in the total financed cost. The charge was never shown on any invoices I received. It was not until months after the final payment was made (all on time), that I received a bill from Conn's stating that I owed $326.76 more than the original invoice price of $616.19. That's an increase of nearly 53 %!!

Upon contacting them and stating the facts, they replied that the contract was breached because the $5.73 insurance fee was never paid. I never received a bill from Conn's for that payment and was unware of the charge until they pointed out the obscure line on the contract. I told them that the charge might be legal, but it was certainly DECEPTIVE.

The only possible reason to write a contract such as the one I signed is so that it will surely be breached, allowing Conn's to pursue payment in excess of that agreed upon with their customers. If the insurance charge is legitimate, why not be up front and include it in the invoiced price? One can only conclude that such straightforward business would not allow Conn's to perpetrate another ripoff.

Watch out for these people!!!
