Jared Coad
JC's Solar Farms, Inc. Total solar ripoff

JARED COAD stole $31,500 from us. We entered into a contract on October 22 with Jared Coad, DBA Wholesale Asset Manageement, LLC. For PV solar panels and solar hot water. The salesman, TOM MATTINGLY, told us the job would be completed by the end of the year so we could take the residential energy tax credits on our 2009 tax returns. We gave the contractor a deposit of $31,500 and to date, more than 5 1/2 months later, the contractor hasn't started our solar project.
JARED COAD recently dissolved Wholesale Asset Management, LLC. He started a new corporation called JC'S SOLAR FARMS, INC. And you can also find his name associated with REFINED SOLAR. This is not not first time that JARED COAD has been accused of ripping people off. Do a Google search of his name.
He has told us over the course of the last 5 1/2 months that the utility company and the city permit departments are to blame... That he can't get them to approve the paperwork, yet his parent's applications have been approved and they have solar panels installed on their home. And the other solar companies in the area are getting similar projects done in 6-8 weeks from start to finish. Our experience is that he continues to submit incomplete and/or incorrect applications to the utility company. On purpose? We certainly think so.
We are not the only homeowners in the area who have given him large deposits and have nothing in return. Do your homework when considering a contractor! JARED COAD has given us 5 different dates that we were "tentatively" on the schedule and every time the date was getting near, he gave us another excuse why he couldn't get started. When we started to really complain, he tried to get us to sign a contract with the electrical supplier that would allow the supplier to place a mechanic's lien on our house if the parts didn't get paid for. First of all, we gave JARED COAD $31,500 already... Why does he have to buy the materials on credit??? Where's the money we gave him that should more than cover material costs???
DON'T GET RIPPED OFF BY JARED COAD. Be careful when considering a solar contractor. Do a thorough research of their name and history and try to connect with satisfied customers. I haven't talked to anyone yet who has entered into a contract with JARED COAD that has anything positive to say about their experience with him.
I dare you to find a satisfied customer of JARED COAD (unless they happen to be related).
