Had high hopes for this place but as all things I've found on Craigslist, it's a gamble. Luigi and his wife Kathy are definitely sales people. They sell, sell, sell but when it comes to delivery, it's a disappointment. We had them come give us an estimate for our kitchen granite with full backsplash. We were happy with the price and it looked like they did good work according to their website photos.
The following weekend, we scheduled a time with them where we would meet up and pick out our granite slabs and where we would hand them a check for the deposit (50% up front). The next weekend comes and we are at the granite yard. We figured they were 15-30 minutes late and it wouldn't be a problem to explore by ourselves for a while. 30 minutes turn into close to 2 hours as we selected our granite pieces with the help our the granite yard instead of TFC. We left the granite yard as we had another engagement. Luigi and his wife called me later to see when they would get their deposit check to start work. I mailed them our deposit check but not before suffering rude voicemails and text messages demanding to know when I sent it "exactly", where I sent it, who I addressed it to etc.
Another few weeks past by and Luigi comes to make templates for our kitchen. He is prompt (by his standards so he is 30 minutes late). The template process took about 2 hours and he was on his way. I later found out that his workers thought his template was of bad quality and as a result... Our sink cut out is slightly irregular in relation to our undermounted sink.
The next Friday, I called Luigi to set up a time for the install. We agreed on Saturday at 11. Saturday came and his crew ended up coming at 3:30 without a call or explanation from Luigi. I can only guess that he double-booked us.
Now that our kitchen is in, there are some things that I thought would be of concern for future consumers:
1. We went with slab instead of pre-fab to cut down on the number of seams in our kitchen as we were doing a full backsplash. Luigi wanted to give me 3 small pieces of granite to make up the backsplash instead of using 2 bigger pieces to cut down the number of seams. His team had to come back the next day with the granite that I had selected and paid for in order to complete the back splash. I can only guess that he was saving our big piece of granite for another job.
2. Luigi initially told me he would be there for the install on Saturday but Saturday came and went and we did not hear or see him.
3. His team wanted us to take out two cabinets for them to install the granite. We took out the two cabinets as requested and they finished the install. As the install was on a Sunday (2nd day), we wanted to wait until we put in the two cabinets and the cooktop before issuing final payment. But this was 'unacceptable' and 'bullshit' according to Luigi and demanded full payment or he would break into my house at night and take his granite. So we bitterly issued the final payment.
