David W. Hammerschmidt bills himself as a Painting and Home Improvement Contractor in Quakertown, PA. He seems very sincere and uses his ex-shop teacher credentials to legitimize the Art of Deceit. He signed a contract for $42,000 worth of home improvements with me, slowly bled all the money from the job over a six month period, claimed family problems and personal illness as the reason he was working only partial days, never finished the contract, and took off when the money was all gone. He never paid my judgment against him either. Watch out if you live in PA or NJ and see his ads! It cost another $28,000 to have a legitimate contractor finish the job and repair the damage he caused. This is a letter from the heart to help anyone avoid falling into Dave's deception - the Hammerschmidt's pitfall!
