We at the Lancaster, Chandler, and Regatta are giving fair warning to anyone buying something preconstruction (like the Aqua or Park Homes) from Magellan at Lakeshore East in Chicago - make sure you have a good attorney who will go through EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb. Understand that even then, whatever the sales people told you about common areas is probably not true, since the developer downgrades as they build. See the other complaints here for proof. For further proof, how about the following:
The suckers who buy into new buildings at Lakeshore East (yes Aqua and Park Home buyers, I'm talking to YOU) are going to be saddled with thousands of dollars in City of Chicago special assessments to pay for the PARK at Lakeshore East. That's right - a park owned by the city is being paid for by these buyers and they won't even know it until too late since Magellan and Lakeshore East Developers Inc hide this information during the purchase so well.
For the next 25 expect thousands of dollars each year for special assessments, suckah! This is currently being investigated by the attorneys of the buildings involved, but ONLY THE ONES BY MAGELLAN! See, the buildings that are on the park that were there before, they DON'T HAVE TO PAY A DIME for the park. Anyone buying from Magellan is the fool gettin' hosed.
Pity the fool who buys from Magellan and Lakeshore East.
