Why can't one do the job when one is getting paid for the job he knows?
I hired Richard Chambers or of Three River Pressure washing to wash my house sidings. He sounded very professional at first like talk to my secratory to arrange the appointment. Well, later we came to know that secratory is his wife and there is no professionalism.
We were not satisfied and mentioned that to him. He promised to bring pressure washer again to clean left out spots. But he kept on making one or another excuse over the phone and not brings the pressure washer like my cousin took the truck; my truck is broken, etc. Well, we had least idea about him and had already given him decided money and ended up giving some advance for laying patio as he does landscaping and also goes by the company of Three River Landscaping.
Now, he never turned back to do new contract of patio and didn't return the advanced money he took. He tells all family stories like I have two kids and third is on the way and we believed him to be the nice and committed gentleman. But we were wrong. He then stopped returning the calls as well. And whenever he did return the calls, he told that he had to rush to the hospital for a MRI and then days later had spider bite and one of his eyes is swollen, etc.By now almost a month is past and we kind of kept going by his situation.
Finally, we called his wife and in front of his wife he sounded as if he would return our money at least. Nothing happened and we followed again to hear that his wife has sent us the money order without having our details like name or address. But why would his wife send??? Why not he himself???
Such a waste of time I did because of him. Now I gave him the warning that we will go to the court and that won't be good for you. Again, he tried to convince us and promised to return my money and asked us to meet at downtown. He was supposed to call half and hour before to make sure that he is coming. Well, he never called on decided time and nothing good happened. This is still not a complete detail of how many times he committed to meet and what all silly excuses he made.
After waiting for two months I went to the court and since he had not started the job, we were asked to go directly to the Judge. Since I was waiting for the Judge to meet on specified day, I made the last call to let him know that I am going to the Judge and then again he said I have the money and can give you. Okay, this time he decided to meet us at downtown (30 minutes away from my place) and finally gave us our money back after two months of hassle. I know it would have been better to go to the Judge and might have got compensation as well.
