This is an ongoing problem that I have had with First American Home Buyers Insurance. I called them on May 22nd to tell them my AC failed, and I understood that they would not be able to get anyone out to me until May 26th due to the Memorial Day Vacation. The contractor showed up on time and diagnosed the problem as a compressor failure.
As of right now, June 9th, I have called numerous times to find out why the contractor has not contacted me to set a up an appointment and have had several excuses such as "oh we're sorry, we don't know what happened but we will contact the contractor immediately and you should expect a call within 15 to 20 min."
Needless to say I did not get a telephone call from the contractor that day and I called them again which they told me they were only able to leave a message. I still have not heard from the contractor and called again today the 9th of June and was told the contractor was going to pick up the new unit so they could install it.
I would think that foresight would have them call me before they were to pick up the new unit so that a time could be set up for the actual install instead of leaving me wondering when they are going to call me. So far, First American Home Buyers Insurance has not done their job and seems to be screwing me around.
It is now the middle of summer and they have not given me a definative answer other than "the contractor says." I will call them tomorrow and demand for the number for the AC contractor and see what that does. I am tired of calling and not getting real facts or answers, it has been over 3 weeks since my first call and the only thing that has happened is I have paid out a $75 service charge.
