This is a copy of the letter that we sent to Tim Gentry at Gentry's Air Conditioning & Refrigeration. It will explain what he has done to us:
As i am sure you are aware, my husband and i have been trying to contact you regarding the partial payment that we made to you on march 20. You contacted us and stated that you had not been able to work for some time and were now ready to begin work replacing our heat pump. You came and picked up the $931.00 check and stated that you would be back the next day to begin work.
I waited for you and you did not show. We called you almost every day and left messages for the next two weeks and you would not return our calls. Finally you did call and you stated that you would be here the following monday to begin work. Once again, i waited and you did not call or show up. Again we called you almost every day for two more weeks and left messages.
You would not answer your phone nor would you return our calls. About a week later, my husband called you from a work phone that he had not called from before and you answered. Once again, you said you would be here the next day to begin work and you would finish in two days. And once again i waited and you did not show or call.
On thursday, may 1, i left you messages both on your home phone and your cell phone that i wanted to terminate my contract with you and that i wanted you to bring my money to me by morning on monday, may 5. You did not call and you did not bring the money.
I also stated that if you did not bring the money by that time i would have no other choice than to contact an attorney. I have now done so and was advised that i could file my claim against you in small claims court and would not need an attorney. This letter is my last attempt to collect from you the amount of $931.00.
If it becomes necessary for me to file this with the court, i will be asking for more than the amount that is now owed. I have already filed a complaint against you with the better business bureau. I would be willing to withdraw that complaint if i were to receive the $931.00 from you no later than 8:00 am on friday, may 16. If i have not received $931.00 from you before that time, i will be filing my claim against you in court on may 16.
If it becomes apparent to me that this is a possible scam, i will also contact the necessary authorities to report it as such. I would like to prevent others from facing the same aggravation that this has caused me. I know that this has already cost you one other job besides mine. It is very unfortunate that you have chosen to conduct your business this way.
