We entered into a contract with Palm Pools & Spas in December. Construction began January 8th.By February 19th, we had paid over 90% of the contracted amount to the contractor but found out that he had not paid $6,000 to the gunite company, $1,500 for tile & coping and $8,000 for decking. When confronted about it, he wanted more money and he quit the job when we refused to pay.
We had to hire sub-contractors to complete our pool. A demand letter was sent to Palm Pools & Spas but he declined to pay the extra money it cost us to complete the pool. The attorney had the same experience with this same contractor a couple of years before. We have since found out that there are other sub-contractors that he has done this to in the past. He also has liens filed against him.
