Our pool was built by Universal Rock Pools & Spas, Inc. 2 years ago. Almost complete lack of communication from the beginning of construction. Recurring rust stains in the plaster caused 3 repair attempts, each one bigger and uglier than the last.
Certified mail and personal visits to the office finally resulted in the pool being re-plastered on 04/10/08. I was informed by sub-contractors on 04/28/08 that Universal had closed their doors, filed for bankruptcy, and told the subs to seek remedy through the courts.
The sub-contractors have notified me of their intent to place Mechanic's Liens against my home, even though the work was done by Universal to satisfy their warranty. Complaint filed with California State Contractors License Board (#NA 19143).
According to CSLB, the Responsible Managing Officer of the corporation is James Enos Bello, Sr. Mr Bello also is the RMO of Carefree Pools & Spas, Inc. And Regal Pools and Spas, Inc. Mr. Bello has not responded to my certified letter to him, or shown any evidence of responsibility or management concerning this rip-off by one of his corporations.
