In June my husband I decided to replace an old aluminum roof on our enclosed porch. We shopped around an got estimates from a few companies and decided that we would go with A Aluminum because they seemed knowledgable and told us that we would have a 5 year warrenty on the roof. I recently called A because my roof has started leaking and I was told by the owner that the warrenty was only for the roof if it started peeling.
I proceeded to tell him that my paperwork just stated simply that I had a five year warrenty and that thier were no exceptions or anything stated. He basically told me to bad and that if I called other companies I would see that all of them only offered a 1 year warrenty. I told him that is why we went with his company is because we thought that they stood behind thier work and product. He then proceeded to tell me that he could send someone out to look at my leak, but that to send someone out would cost me $75.00.
The worst part is the leak is in the same place as I had a leak in and at that time they had to redo the flashing because I was told it was done inncorectly. I know have another company coming out to look at my leak and let me know if it can be fixed. I would warn anyone thinking of using this company to watch out because they make deals that they are not willing to keep. I am considering taking this matter up with an attorney and see if I can salvage any of my warrenty that I thought I was getting.
