My son was kind enough to buy me a steam iron while on his vacation in the states. He got ripped off by unprofessional sales people. These sales people should be put behind bars as they are selling an unsafe and dangerous ital steam iron that has a faulty plug on it. It sparks and fire comes out of socket. I know this sounds far fetched, but it is true.
I had the same experiences as others with brown guck coming out of iron and wrecking clothing the first time I tried to use the iron. Then the fire coming out of socket from faulty plug the 2nd and 3rd time I used iron. I had ital steam iron inspected and there is something missing on the plug that creates an unsafe product. This iron must be taken off of the market before a serious situation occurs eg. House burning down.
Living in Canada, I am not aware of safety standards of products sold in the states. Could someone email me contact info, phone, fax number, email etc. Of who in the states is looking after safety standards.
ItalSteam is a rip off, an unsafe product, a piece of junk that must be removed from the market place. This company should issue a recall of this product. Admit they are not capable of manufacturing a safe steam iron and refund consumers their money back immediately.
