We hired Putnam Builders to add a 20x30' addition to our home in 2002. They designed the construction and were confident in their work to the point of arrogance when we had any questions. The roof has leaked when covered with snow or ice almost every winter since it was built. We've contacted them numerous times about the problem. They did come out several times but were always unwilling to do anything meaningful about the issue. They'd chip ice... Tell us to run expensive warm bands up there to melt the ice... Or tell us that gutters were a bad idea (they called the installer). The last time we called they agreed to come out and never did. Now a professional roofer tells us that the pitch of the roof was never steep enough for New England winters and that the roof must be RIPPED OFF and replace with unattractive rubber - which will cost $5000. Fantastic.
