I built a Talyor home in 1997. Since then we have had all kinds of problems with it. It started when we found out that they had moved vents in the roof and didn't put wood over them but just laid shingles and we had leaks. Then, the ductwork had to be redone because it had back flow, then the furnace they installed had to be replaced because it was putting lethal levels of carbon dioxide into the house.
The newest trial is that they did not put a moisture barrier around our house under the brick and did not leave a moisture gap. They brick is right up against the osb and they outer walls and floors or our house are rotting and full of black mold. We checked with the local authorities and were told that to fix it properly, all the brick would have to be remove, all the rotting osb and drywall and outer studs had to be replaced, then the osb redone, the house wrapped with a barrier and then the brick redone with the proper moisture gap. It would cost us almost as much as we paid to build the house 11 years ago to have it fixed. We were told to contact a lawyer.
Do not build a taylor home!!!
