Friday February 13. My wife called me at 8:30 AM and was upset and crying. After I calmed her down she sobbed "We need new furnaces". I asked why she thought that and she said "I bought a cleaning and inspection for our furnaces at the home show and the technician is here now, he says we have a gas leak and that both furnaces are so old he has to RedTag them and turn them off". It was 25 degrees out. I told her to let me talk to him. I told him to get out of my house.
I used to know a hvac guy that would brag about doing inspections and RedTagging the furnaces of old ladies, cause they couldnt do anything about it. And it guaranteed a full price sale, with all the extras. This is what we do when work gets slow, he told me.
When I got home my wife did not belive me and was still crying and saying, "we are going to blow up, or die from carbon monoxide poisoning and you dont care. This caused great stress on our marraige. I bought a CO/Gas detector and had a friend who works in the business inspect them and he said there is no problem with our furnaces.
CLIMATECH never cleaned, inspected or did anything but scare my wife and they kept our money. Companies like this should not be in business.
