Hague Quality Water International (WaterBoss) manufactures. A waterboss filter model # 97WB-IF, serial # 03330392 using a toxic and hazord and corrosive chemical, potassium permanganate was installed by myself in a new home that was completed on March 5.
Almost immediately after installation there was a problem with the water filter. From the very beginning there was water leakage from the Brine Valve Housing Assembly. I called WaterBoss and over the phone I was able to repair the problem. The tubing on the Brine Valve was incorrectly installed. A few months later I encountered another problem with this unit. The unit stop regenerating correctly and began to overfill the cabinet housing. I called WaterBoss a second time and was instructed to take apart both the Brine Valve unit and the Injector Assembly unit and clean both. Also I was instructed to grease the piston that was on the inside of the injector assembly unit and to put back together. After doing this the unit worked for a few short month and began to refil the cabinet again upon regeneration.
I called WaterBoss for a third time and I spoke with a supervisor name Rich (Rick) Strait and he requested that if I sent him my purchase receipt he would refund my money paid for the unit. This was sometime in early 2006. He had promised to send a UPS box with a post paid label and he would arrange for UPS to come pick up the unit then refund my purchase price. The UPS people never came to pick up the unit as promised by this supervisor and I called to inquire why not and if they had in fact recieved the requested sales receipt and Mr. Strait said he had recieved all the info needed and did not know why the UPS people had not arrived yet. This unit sat for more than three weeks unattached from our water system and it appeared that WaterBoss had no intenion in honoring their promise. I had the filter re-installed.
Then in August I called waterboss for a forth time because I was still having the same problem. It turned out that I had to replace a defective Injector Assembly Unit. When the unit arrived, I installed it and the in October I start having the same exact problem with this filter with the cabinet overfilling. I called for a fifth time and I talked with a Sharon and she had me take apart the Brine Valve Assembly unit, the Injector Assembly unit, Drive end cap Assembly, I/O Adapter assembly, and disconnect the motor attached to the Drive end cap assembly and the computer mounted board. I clean, greased, lubricated, rotated and reprogrammed this entire unit as they directed me to and the unit reset. But I was not sure it was going to work. I was told to wait until it regenerates but everything would be okay.
On October 17 this unit regenerated but the cabinet overfilled again. The problem was still the same. I called for a sixth time and spoke again with the supervisor R. Strait and he was very smart mouth to me and showed NO concern about the continued problems I was having with his equipment. He told me that 100% of his product has never been defective and he has never recieved any complaints about any waterboss filter. Mr. Strait forced me to pay $20.40 to replace this defective part. I want waterboss to honor their promise to me and refund the purchase price of this unit for which they had promised.
These people have continuedly lied about the quaility of their product and are nasty on the phone to you when you try to resolve any issue with them. They continue lie about what they will do to resolve the issue, hence, they NEVER follow thru. They OVERCHARGE you for replacement and shipping. These people should never be allowed to stay in business. I have contacted the BBB, and they are weak and do not ever expect any resolve through the BBB.
