Stange operating practices

Hello, anyone who reads this. I hope that this saves you some money and time. The company Everycontractor.com has contacted me two times trying to get me to work for them in the Mooresville N.C. Area. I have a handyman service
And God knows that I can use all the work I can get but these people are something else.

Two times they have call me and started the conversation off by acting like a customer. The first guy calls and ask " Hey do you do roofing" I said "yes" and he continues to tell me about a 35 square roof he needs replaced. I was interested and then he told me it was tile. Well I can do tile but the guys that help me do not know much about it so I told him that I could not do the job. So he asked me if I was looking for work and I told him I was always looking for work. Then he breaks into this story about needing a "go to guy in my area".

Well I continue to listen to this guy for a while and come to find out he wanted a $1000.00 so he could give me a job. Well thats not ever going to happen and I told him so. Well this guy calls me back three or four times and drops his price to $300.00 for ten qualified jobs. I do not really know what a qualified job is but I am not paying for it.

Well any way, today my phone rings and a guy asked me if I did hardwood floors and I said yes. He said he had 1000 sq. Ft. Of hard wood he needed installed. I was like sure I can help you with that. Then he brakes out in his spill about Everycontractor.com and the $1000.00 for ten qualified jobs and his need for a "go to guy " in my area.

I asked him how he got my number and he told me that he Googled "handyman " in my area and found me. I am glad that I am coming up in the searches and hope that real qualified customers can find me too.

I have gone to thier web site and it seems to be a free service to the customer, maybe not by the time you get done.

The point that I am trying to make is that these people have called me two times and both times started off the conversation with a BIG FAT LIE. They seem to take any body that says they can do the work. They use Google to find contractors and you can too. I would say that is what I would do or use another company but this one seems a little scary to me.

So last night I went to thier website and feeled out there application as a customer. There were some basic questions about what needed to be done and about the money. I said I needed a fence built and had $5000.00 to spend.

Well guess what? They called me today desperate for me to build my own fence. I told them that I did not see paying $1000.00 to get a job and they instantly dropped the price to $95.00. When I told the guy that it was me that had made the inquirery about the fence you know that he was embarrassed. But still wanted to sign me up for the service

I really think that they are ripping off contractors. They had no information on me to say I was a
"qualified customer". Nor did they do any research about me as a customer or a contractor otherwise they would have known it was the same person.
