I had signed up for the RealtyTrac Free Trial. Prior to the end of this period, I reentered the site to cancel the membership as the property descriptions and information provided were less informational (or similar) than was otherwise available on internet. Fast forward to last week, when in reviewing charges I noticed that there was a charge from Real Estate Promoter for 39.95, which upon further investigation I learned was made for two months. At no time did I authorize RealtyTrac to provide information to Real Estate Promoter and subsequently be billed for essentially nothing. I have written two emails and left one phone message to RealtyTrac to remedy this situation, but have received no response.in addition, I tried to reenter the RealtyTrac site in order to see if there was a way in which to cancel this "service, " but since I cancelled the RealtyTrac portion, was unable to do so. I am trying to take action with my bank, but have been on hold for ages, subsequently I will file complaints with the BBB and my State's Attorney General's Office, but wanted to add my comments to others that have been made regarding these two companies.
