When I went to Allen's I requested a part for my steam boiler, I brought with me a picture and specs of what I thought was a simple on off valve. The clerk (Chris) said that the manufacture will not sell me just the Blow down valve he said I have to order the whole Low Water Cut Off witch comes with the Blow down Valve. So I did Because Chris said its not sold separate for $238.50.
When I got it home I opened the box and seen a McDonnell & Miller Customer Service Feedback Questioner with a phone Number for customer service. I called them to complain as to how come they don't sell just the Blow Down Valve. They said they do and it's a common part to go on steam boilers. They also said they can't understand why I was told I could not? They said they have no control over the people who sell there products. I called Allen's and told them what the manufacture said and Allen's spokes Lady said No Refunds and was very Rude to me! I told her Chris miss leaded me. I Feel I was deceived and was told I had to buy something extra I did not even need. This was wrong because I asked Chris to sell me just the blow Down Valve in the first place. He went out of his way to sell me more then I needed!!!
I feel I have been ripped-off by Allen's plumbing supply in Seymour Ct. I wish I checked with the BBB before doing business with them. BBB has them listed as unsatisfactory record. Emmett O'Brien School didn't teach you how to rip off and deceive people like you're business reps did me! You should be ashamed of your self and further more be investigated by the consumer protection agency. Run away as fast as you can from this place!!!
