I have worked for this place of business as a contractor for three years now. Each job has always had problems, due to lack of education in the flooring industry. Things like not doing measurements correctly, missing important details about the job, ordering a different product other than what the customer picked out, products have manufactor defects and still placing the material in the customers home, and not notifying the customer of these changes until they receive their final bill.
Stating the above makes it difficult for me because it puts me into the line of fire between both the customer and the company who sold the material. I could go on and on about the mistakes this company makes but the thing that bothers me the most is how they rip off the customer.
As of today I have had enough, I have been an installer for over 25 years, and yes you will have a few mistakes but never like I have seen with this company. I am a contractor and they treat me as if I am an employee and refuse to pay out but one day a week on jobs that have been completed.
Contractors work on a 1099 and not W-2 forms, right now this company will not pay me, because of their screw ups on defective material.in the economic times we are in I think they are going to cheat me out of my money which is a considerable amount. I am not the first contractor they have done this to and I was warned when I started with this company three years ago, but I took what was said with a grain of salt as would most people. Now I know better.
It doesn't matter about he consumer or the small contractor anymore, these people get rich by ripping other consumers off and with free labor. I wouldn't buy anything from this company because their mark up prices are 100 percent and their products are defective and if you get a warranty with that product you should forget it because it does not apply on defective material and they will place it in your home any way. If you are looking at flooring material I would look else where other than F&M Building Supplies.
