If you are looking to rent in New Brunswick, NJ and see a listing with these landlords - BEWARE! They will try to drive you out of your apartment and claim that you are causing problems - unless of course you pay for the whole year in full! The also make you write your rent checks to their "real estate company" that has no physical address, only a post office box. No record of this business can be found online or in directory assistance. They are Lebanese but have Ontario plates on their cars. A lot of fishy business from them!
I managed to make it a full year at my apartment but it was pure hell, including several calls in the middle of the night from the landlord complaining that we were noisy when we weren't even home! Went to court twice (and won because they had no case). Then they had the nerve to keep my security deposit until the very last day to avoid being sued AND took out money for replacing the garbage cans that we left behind! For your own good - STAY AWAY from these nasty people. They pretend to be nice but are money hungry and will do what they can to get a few pennies from you.
