Wow, where do I begin. First off, I found NRS via 123movers.com. Will never go there again. I was contacted by Leigh Sanchez. He seemed very friendly and figured I would see if I can get a decent moving quote. I explained to him that I have approx. 3000lbs worth of items to move. No big deal, I got a quote of about $1900, which is very good compared to all the other movers.
I know I should have looked at my storage unit a little bit better to makes sure I knew the exact contents. These guys put on the "Binding Estimate" that I will only have 40 total items.
I was told that I needed to pay $700 up front for the deposit. Ok, still no big deal considering that I will still only be paying $1900. They gave me a date range for when they will pick my stuff up. It was very reasonable. They said to expect a call from the movers as to when they will be here.
I contacted NRS to see when the movers will be here. I was told they will be here on Saturday, which is great. I called on Saturday to find out what time the movers will be coming, the lady told me they will be here in the evening. Ok, kinda late, but I can deal with it. The movers called me at 8pm to notify me that they will arrive in 20 - 30 minutes. They show up at 9pm.
Ok, time to get things moved, right? Wrong... They could not get the big truck in the storage compound. I was told that I will have to pay a lot more now, because they will have to move things over 75 feet. But, they also said they could "work" with me. The guy said if I pay them $500 up front, there will be no issues with the extra fees.
I told the guy, ummm. No! He then contacted his "boss" and came back with a new estimate of $1290 on top of the $1220 that is owed. Told them no, and they put all my stuff back in to the storage unit.
I guess the whole point is... Do not hire national relocation services for anything!!!
