Complaint / Review
Automatic Door Company
The Garage Door Company, and Fairfield Overhead Door Company

This family, and Gary Zaccia, the son who took over the business, are the most abusive and unprofessional rip off con men that an innocent homeowner could encounter.

They make big promises, and even have a clause to deliver the complete doors within 6 to 8 weeks in their own contract. But they took nearly 8 months for our doors, with constant excuses as to why they needed to delay.

Abuse beyond anything a homeowner should be subjected to!

They demand large deposits by check& they don't take credit cards most likely because they know that all good credit card companies would catch on to the pattern of complaints. Additionally, a consumer can get their money back if the doors are not made and delivered as promised if they have the luxury of using a credit card.

But this family cashes your deposits, then cashes the 'installment payments'... Then when they have 80% of your money, and the consumer is now reduced to pleading with them to get their expensive garage doors... This company then starts to play horrible head games and further demand that the homeowner accept their unthinkable delays and abuse.

We spent $10,000 on two garage doors that were way overpriced and should have taken no more than 8 weeks to deliver. They took 8 months with much haggling to finally get our doors.

When the doors were installed, this company used springs that were too small for the heavy doors, which caused a very dangerous condition of the electric door motor to do the work of lifting these doors.

The doors were not operating correctly. Our carpenter called and left a voice mail message with this company URGENTLY notifying them of the dangerous situation, but they never returned the call.

So now they don't care about warranty work and certainly took their money and ran.

We had to hire a different door company on an emergency call to replace the springs. The cost of this to the homeowner was an additional $1,000.

Horrible abuse that is totally unacceptable to the honest paying customer who did not deserve to be left with a dangerous pair of doors that could have crashed down on a person or property.

Buyer beware.
